N0. 212 CIW CHAPTER 12 MISSOURI JEANS’ CONFEDERATE GUERRILLA COMMAND

Commanding officer: Ex-Colonel Beal Jeans

Beal Jeans was formerly a Colonel in the Confederate States Army and was said to be one chief of the guerrillas in Jackson County, Missouri, during the winter of 1863-1864. Jeans was in Platte County in the winter of 1863-1864 recruiting but had left the area by March 19, 1864.

    Hello: Beal Green Jeans: Born 1/13/1826 @ Mt. Sterling KY. In MO. was a Lt. in company A, 3rd Infantry ,8th Division Missouri State Guard. Resigned 9/23/1861. Then Lt. Colonel in the ” Jackson County Regiment” A.K.A. 12th Missouri Cavalry Regiment. Became Colonel 9/13/1862. Late 1863 resigned due to wounds received. Wounded again 3/20/1864 while recruiting in Jackson County. Survived the war.
