N0. 222 CIW CHAPTER 12 MISSOURI MARMADUKE’S CONFEDERATE GUERRILLA COMMAND

Commander: Marion Marmaduke

Marmaduke led the command in the early Spring of 1862. They were challenged by Union soldiers near Elliott’s Mills on Salt River above Stoutsville, Missouri. Marmaduke leaped his horse over a high bank, swam the Salt River and escaped.
