Commander: Fay Price

The command operated in southwest Missouri, southeast Kansas and the Indian Territory. Price was a native of Missouri. He was captured by the 3rd Wisconsin in November 1862 and was sentenced to hang at the Ft. Smith, Arkansas military prison, but escaped. Price was captured again in April 1863. On May 2, 1863, there is evidence to prove that he was “set up” by the military officials and the records indicate he was shot “trying to escape”.”
